Brothers David, John and Alexander Guthrie, members of a local farming family, founded the North Port Distillery in 1820 under the name Townhead Distillery and created the holding company, Townhead Distillery Company, as owner. The distillery was renamed Brechin Distillery in 1823, and in 1825, the holding company became Guthrie, Martin & Company
This rare Single Malt is distilled back in the year 1980 and bottled in 2004 by Scott’s Selection. The state age is 24 years. Matured in American Oak and bottled at Cask Strength at 58% volume alcohol. Bottle size 700 ml. Wrapped in a Carton Box.
Nose ~ Herbs, a little oak, vanilla, grain and hay
Taste ~ Enters sweet then quickly turning to spices, in the background a bit vanilla and tiny portion of peat
Finish ~ Medium long going from fading spices to a oaky wood taste.
